School teacher feedback to me ,when she touched on the topic of occupation and asked the children talk about the work of their parents ,Shi Xu said his mummy is a nurse !
Well, the reason behind he said so is due to our flash cards and pretend play .
Few months back , I did flash cards on the topic of occupation and we also had pretend play of it after that .
He likes to be a doctor and always ask me to be his nurse and patient.Sometimes he pretends he is pilot and ask me to be stewardness to serve him drinks in "plane' .
we do enjoy our pretend play .
and now school touch on this topic again , that's the reason why he said his mummy is a nurse .(but I wonder why he never say his mummy is stewardness :P)

The other day , i gave Shu Xu a lesson for his misbehavior and he was very unhappy with it .
Shi Xu : Stupid !
Daddy : Can not say mummy stupid !
Shi Xu : Mummy is butterfly, butterfly is stupid .
mummy & daddy : ..........
hmm .. he is using Algebra !
A(mummy)=B(butterfly) ,
B(butterfly)=C(stupid) ,hence
A(mummy)=C(stupid)
I was really impressed with his "algebra rule " ,but i was also quite disturbed by his rude manners .

2 days ago , Shi Xu asked for drawing . So i gave him a piece of paper and a pen .
Shi Xu : I draw a big circle . ( drawing the "head" )
Mummy : What are you drawing ?
Shi Xu : cat !
Mummy : ha?
Shi Xu : 猫 ! ( He thought i didn't get him )
Shi Xu : I draw small circles ( drawing the "eyes" )
Mummy : Does cat have nose and mouth ?
Shi Xu : Yes! ( started drawing the 2 lines for "mouth " and "nose " )
After the mouth and nose , he drew 2 more lines (outside the "head" )
Mummy : Then what are these ? ( pointing the 2 lines )
Shi Xu : Ears !
I thought it was done so i got my camera ready . Shi Xu was still busy drawing ...he was drawing the curly lines on top of the "head "
Mummy : What are these? ( pointed at the curly lines )
Shi Xu : Hair !
Haha......this is his "cat " (above ) . Oh well , i think this look more like human face than a cat , isn't it ?
so on the next few minutes , i was busy capturing his drawing , while i had finished the photo shooting , he had done the other drawing and he named it as "cat " as well .

Fish!He is unbeatable cute .I was definately amazed that he get to draw animals at his young tender age .He makes me gleaming with pride .
lately we are bombarded with so many questions(or perhap answers ?) from my little boy.Sometimes we really need to think hard to answer his questions .But we truly enjoy the conversation with him .
Here are some tricky yet funny Q & A we had
Case 1 :
Shi Xu :爸爸，fish 有没有喝水？
爸爸： 有！ (**very confident answer **)
Mummy : ........
( i remained hesitant to answer because i do not know the answer ! )
Isn't it a funny yet tricky question ? I asked around and I got different answers. My brother said fish do not drink water but use their skin to absorb water , while my husband insisted that fish do drink water . Both sound logical .(then what is the correct answer? ) we stumped by the scientific question posed by my little boy .
Well ,my collegue got the answer from internet ,here is the explanation .
"Fresh water fish absorb water through their skin and gills, saltwater fish actually do drink water.
In saltwater fish, they have to drink because their body's concentration of salt is lower than the surrounding water. Therefore, they have to drink huge amounts of water every day to stay hydrated.
In freshwater fish, their salt concentration is higher than that of the surrounding water, and, as osmosis dictates, they absorb water through their highly permeable skin. To keep from bursting, freshwater fish actually have to excrete water, up to 10 times their body weight daily, unlike saltwater fish. "
Case 2 :
The other day ,we were chatting on the bed ..
Shi Xu : 爸爸 can not fly ,mummy can not fly , Shi Xu also can not fly .
Mummy : Why we can not fly ?
I expected he would give me the answer something like "because we are not bird ", however....
Shi Xu : no more wings! ( he always misuse "no more " as "don't have " )
He caught me by surprise!I was COMPLETELY shocked.Where on earth did he understand that we can't fly without wings!?
First , i would like to apologize to my little boy .
This morning , i got him changed a pretty baggy school uniform shorts and that time i still wonder would it slip down when he jump or run .But i still let him put it on. (what a bad mum :P )
And it really happened as i thought !
Here is our conversation after he came back from school ...
Shi Xu : 我的裤子掉下来，everybody laugh you know ? (he grinned when he shared this )
Daddy : 哦！你的裤子掉下来！为什么你的裤子掉下来 ？
Shi Xu : I ran to playground then 我的裤子掉下来.
Daddy : Who laugh at you ?
Shi Xu : Sarah , Cayen laugh , Ayden never laugh , Ayden happy ...(**fainted** )
I can imagine how embarrassed he was feeling that time .Would he find himself humiliating moments where his peers all laughed at him ?I hope he was not .( I think he was alright as he still can share this experience with grin ,probably he take it as a funny story to share with us ) .
Anyway embarrassing moments are something that every one of us will face also. Hope he can get over this.

Do we look like Korean family ?haha ...
We had a special Korean experience at Korea Plaza @ Samsung Hub .It was an outright fun experience dressing in hanbok (Korean Traditional Costume .)

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaKorean family portrait ^_^It was a special day , Shi Xu got to perform in his first school mini concert! I just couldn't wait to see him perform and wonder how things would turn out on that day.
My mood today was a thrilling roller coaster ride .Daddy was away for business trip . My mission was to video down our little one's performance .
The teacher took the children out to the stage . All the PG1 students seem like unexpectedly became open to a larger group.All of them were stunned and didn't know what they should do when they stand in front of the audience,so was Shi Xu ,he looked uncomfortable ,occationally waving his hand (he seem like wanted to perform but remain hesitant on doing so as no one performed at that time ).Non of his classmate perform when the music was playing .Some of them cried , some of them just stand still , some even not knowing where to stand . They just stand on the stage till the music was over .Haha..

At night , when left only 2 of us at home , Shi Xu got the mood to host his personal concert .He made me chuckle with delight and he enjoy the 100% attention i gave .

What made the father and son thumbs up happily? Were they impressed by the yummy food ? No!It certainly not .
In fact ,Shi Xu thumb up to his COLD soft drink and ice cream !With these food around , we can enjoy our dinner in peace (what a bad parents :P) .His face beaming with joy and happiness while he was drinking and eating all up to his heart's content (i still controlled and made sure he didn't go beyond my limit) .You could always hear "very good!" when he thumbs up to his favourite food . The savory sweetness definitely light up his day.Ice cream and soft drink truly can make the world go round .hehe ...
Like father like son . This improper posture of study truly resembles his daddy .I always emphasize to sit up straight on chair while study but seem like my words are not convincing enough .
The scene does look fun to me though . ^_^
when we entered our house in late evening ,it was so dark as i had not turn on the lights yet
Shi Xu :So many 暗暗。 (he means so dark )
Shi Xu likes to play water gun when we bathe him . He put his water gun inside the pail which full of water

what does he means ? does he mean he wants a younger sibling ?
for no reason , Shi Xu find funny to hear me speak cantonese to him , when i speak cantonese to him ,
Shi Xu : (smirk) I dont want !
mummy ignored him and continue the cantonese conversation .
Shi Xu : (smirk again)关掉 mummy .
He was trying to "turn off " mummy . He thought i am radio or TV ? *fainted *
Spending moments with little Shi Xu is like entering into another realm.He never fail to bring on a smile and add sunshine to our everyday .

Mummy: o Ya , bird bird !

He puzzled me , where is the other bird ?i only saw one bird flying in the sky ??!..
Mummy : Where ?
Shi Xu :还有一个! ( pointed at his "bird bird" )
Mummy burst into laugh ..
Mummy was trying to show Shi Xu what is canal when we was passing by a canal at our downstair .
Mummy : This is canal .
Shi Xu :(wave his little hands ) can not !
I was wondering why can not ?
Mummy : canal !
Shi Xu : can not ! ( wave his hands again )
Pause for few sec , i just realized that he misheard "canal " as "can not " haha ..
I tried to tie my hair up due to the recent hot weather
Shi Xu :姐姐！
muahaha .... do i look young when i tie my hair up ?
Mummy : 姐姐 ??
Shi Xu :姐姐 mummy！
He gives me a few minutes of excitement. It’s such a lovely day .^ ^

Shi Xu never fails to amuse us with his funny tricks and actions ,he call
a) palm tree as coconut tree ( well , in fact they look alike )
e) Recently we try to wean Shi Xu off the pacifier ,we tell him that his pacifer has lizard and worm ,so he can not take it , but his reply was " lizard!? ..Emb!..nice ! " (he sound like he swallow it in one gulp ) .Needles to say , our trick was fail .
h)Daddy just had his hair trim in the evening while Shi Xu and I had our lesson in LNT . I did not notice he had trim his hair (*sotong wife* ) ,but to my surprice , Shi Xu noticed it and told me ..
Shi Xu : 爸爸 cut hair..
Daddy : 爸爸 handsome ?
Shi Xu: 时旭 handsome ..
Daddy : Mummy pretty ?
Shi Xu : Mummy pretty ..
Daddy never give up , with the hope that Shi Xu would say daddy handsome after his hair cut .
Daddy : 爸爸 handsome ?
Shi Xu: 时旭 handsome ..( Still think that he is more handsome than his daddy.haha.. )

Shi Xu has a mind of his own .His sense of himself as a distinct person grows, he'll talk about himself -- what he's doing in school, what he likes, and what he doesn't like.
Recently he told us , "I like Isabel " , "I like Sarah" (his female school peers ) .We just teased that he already has 2 girl friends in school . But I know he just simply feel more comfortable in playing with particular peers .Just like adult ,we are more closer with particular friends .

Daddy: "Do you want to kiss Isabel ?"
Shi Xu:" I want to kiss mummy !"
That is nothing beat his say he want to kiss mummy ,it makes my days .

“我的钱呢？”Shi Xu asked his daddy before we went out from our house to Marina Barrage on last Sunday . Daddy literally burst into laugh . How this little fellow know we need money when we go out ?
I think the story behind was we took 2 coins from him the day before , so when he wanted to go out , he just realized that his pocket was empty ,so he wanted to get back his coins from us .
He has his own mind --> Never keep his pocket empty !
Shi Xu @ 24.5th month
When it comes to sing , Shi Xu can be very enjoyable .He like to sing with or without music whevener he is in good mood . He always sing along these song "anytime ,any where " and dance for joy .
This is his favourite song list ->"拔萝卜“，” 握紧拳头“，“造飞机“，”小星星“，“生日快乐“， “蝴蝶“,"两只老虎“，“我的朋友在那里“ ，“london bridge ","The wheel on the bus " , "happy birthday " ," twinke twinkle little star " ,"ABC song ","Oh Mac Donald farm " ,"little teapot " , "incy wincy spider , " head,shoulder ,knee and toes " , and many many more ! (he is a little pop star in our family now :P)
For instance , when he sing twinkle twinkle little star, he mix with manderin and english (previously he could sing the song mainly in english , however after i had taught him in manderin for the same song , he come with funny idea to mix them up ) .
He sing " 一闪一闪亮晶晶“。。。"up above the world so high " , or come with another creative song like " twinkle twinkle 亮晶晶 ". Sometimes he even change the lyrics according to his interest , like he sing "两只老虎,两只老虎,一定没有跑得快,一定没有跑得快...".haha...What my creative boy !
It always be an uphill task for me to take a video for him whenever he sing song or has some funny and interesting movement.It is such a huge challenge to get him to sit still to let me take photo or video , think i should install a web camera at home so that i can video down all his amazing development,isn't it a good idea ?
Today i was pretty lucky , i was able to video my little Shi Xu when he was singing , he was enjoy to sing “我的朋友在那里“ and i quickly took out my camera to video him , he only came to snatch the camera from me when he finished his whole song . Hurray ! i got his video finally !

Sometimes I can do nothing else than "admire" daddy creativity and sense of humous .This time he "made " a "红头巾男孩“ for me .Do you know Singapore Sanshui woman (also known as "红头巾" in Mandarin) ? Samsui women were Cantonese and Hakka immigrants from three districts in Sanshui (三水） county of Guangdong (Kwantung) province in Southern China namely, Sanshui (Sam Sui), Shun De (Shun Tak) and Dong Guan (Tong Koon).They believed to have come to Singapore between 1934 and 1938.They found employment in tin mines, rubber estates, on construction sites and as amahs or "domestic servants". They wore a red head dress which became their trademark feature.

爸爸说这通常都是警察会问的问题，所以现在不用担心时旭会失踪了。如果失踪，去 sembawang警察局就好啦！哈哈。。
但我认为这还不够呢，因为还没告诉警察住哪个block,哪一楼和哪个unit 啊！ 如果这也会的话，警察叔叔就可把时旭送到门口了哈哈。。。
我会不会要求太多呢哈哈。。。

上个星期六，吃过了晚饭，我们带了时旭去Bukit Batok 的图书馆。时旭可真高兴呢，在图书馆走来走去。摸摸这里的书，又摸摸那里的书。在儿童部里，看到了一群印度小孩，还拿了一本书想要过去和他们坐在一起读。之后，看到了一个姐姐，脱了鞋，很relax的坐在地上阅读，他也有样学样，脱了他的鞋，坐在地上看书。没看多久，又走到书架去选别的书了， 这时，有个印度小男孩（大概和时旭同年龄吧），也过来选书，他想要拿书时，时旭对他说"No!!"，那印度小男孩就用他圆圆的大眼睛瞪着时旭，时旭才转了语气说“ok" .哈哈。。小孩子也会见风转舵哦！

时旭坐在床上玩着他的soft toy ，他突然拔开他的吃着的dudu (pacifier）， 放在winnie 的嘴边，跟winnie 说“ dudu！ “， 看着winnie全无反应，他看着dudu ，再看看winnie ，一副茫然的样子，不知道要怎样放进winnie的嘴巴，为什么winnie 不要dudu ？他再把winnie 放躺下，轻轻拍打它， 跟他说“ oi oi " (Sleep) .winnie 还是没反应。 他就拿起他的小书本，要教winnie念书。
case 2 :
时旭在客厅里玩球，球滚到TV console 的下面， 时旭不敢爬下去拿（怕敲到头）， 他对着球说“来！来！“
